placeholder

This collaboration combines cutting-edge payment technology with Zero’s mission to support environmentally conscious consumers, demonstrating the future of sustainability in the finance sector.

Empowering sustainability through collaboration

Zero’s new personal account and debit card is designed with eco-conscious consumers in mind, with its GreenScore® feature, incorporating Doconomy’s carbon calculator offered through its Mastercard partnership, enabling users to understand the environmental impact of their spending and lifestyle. The physical card is produced sustainably using 95% recycled plastic. A virtual-only card is also available and digital wallet functionality through Apple Pay and Google Pay will be available soon.

TransactPay played a pivotal role in enabling this groundbreaking initiative. By providing BIN sponsorship, account solutions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, TransactPay helped Zero navigate the complexities of launching a sustainability-focused payment programme.

Richard Theodossiades, CEO at Zero, said: “TransactPay has played an instrumental role in the launch of Zero and we are grateful for their partnership and expertise.”

“We’re delighted to have supported Zero in bringing their vision to life,” said Katie Clarke, Head of Business Relations at TransactPay. “This partnership highlights our commitment to empowering innovative programme managers and advancing sustainable solutions in the payments ecosystem. It’s incredibly rewarding to see all the hard work pay off and celebrate this as a team achievement.”

Overcoming challenges for a seamless launch

The launch journey required meticulous coordination between Zero, TransactPay and other stakeholders. Challenges such as integrating account solutions and meeting technical requirements were resolved through a collaborative and solutions-driven approach. This ensured a phased rollout, with Zero introducing a wave of initial customers and planning a larger launch once Apple Pay and Google Pay integrations are complete.

Zero’s programme highlights the growing trend of consumers seeking sustainable and impactful financial solutions. Through advanced reporting features and a clear focus on environmental goals, the card empowers users to make informed, eco-friendly decisions.

A vision for the future

This collaboration marks TransactPay’s first project involving a carbon calculator and underscores its position as a leader in enabling sustainable innovations in finance. The project’s success not only supports Zero’s mission but also sets a new standard for sustainability in payments.

“At TransactPay, we’re not just a service provider; we’re partners in making dreams a reality,” Katie added. “If you’ve got a vision, we’re here to help you bring it to fruition.”
